Qualified
personal trainers can dramatically improve your workouts, helping you
achieve things you never thought possible.
You may consider a trainer if:
You always do the same workout or workouts.
We often get stuck doing the same workouts simply because we
don't know what else to do. A qualified trainer will
evaluate your strengths and weaknesses, and return with fresh
new ideas to add to your workouts and get you back on track.
You are uncertain how to do various exercises.
Good form is crucial in avoiding injuries and getting the most
out of your workout. Having a trainer teach you proper
form and technique will not only prevent possible injury but
when you perform your exercises correctly, you will require
much less exercise to see results. You economize your
time!
You need motivation. If you often find
yourself simply going through the motions, or even worse not
being able to get going at all, you will find that having
someone come and get you working out will ensure that you will
work out and more so than if you were on your own. No
more, ah I'll do it tomorrow!
You have committed to a major event. If you
are taking on a serious challenge, such as a marathon or
triathlon, it may be worth while getting an expert to design a
program for you. This will maximize the effects of your
workout time, and ensure that you reach the starting line
injury free and ready to race.
You are recovering from an injury. A
certified trainer can design the right type of workout to get
you back into shape and/or moving without aggravating your
previous injury. With your permission, we may contact
your physicians, physical therapists, or specialists who can
offer us some valuable insights about your existing or
pre-existing conditions. The more we know, the more
accurately we can design a safe and effective program for you.
You struggle to eat properly. Many people
work out hard, then sabotage their efforts by eating the wrong
foods, mainly junk food. Working with a qualified
trainer and/or nutritionist can help you get a handle on your
diet. Please note that unless a trainer has
certification in nutrition (i.e. registered dietician), he/she
by scope of practice may provide basic nutritional information
based on Canada's Guide to healthy Eating. Advanced
nutritional information requests should be referred to a
qualified nutrition professional.
You are pre-post natal. A qualified trainer
with experience in this area can give you the expert advice
you need to maintain your conditioning during pregnancy and
bounce back after.
Consultation: Before we can begin helping you achieve
your specific fitness goals, we will first meet with you to
discuss your health history and get some background
information. With your permission, we may contact your
physicians, physical therapists, or specialists who can offer
us valuable insights about your existing or pre-existing
conditions. The more we know about your health and past
habits with regards to exercise and nutrition, the more
accurately we can design a safe and effective program for you.
